If you care about mitigating your carbon footprint, there aren’t many better vehicles than the 2020 Clarity Plug-In Hybrid. The Clarity boasts an impressive 2.1 L/100 km blended electric/gasoline fuel consumption. It can also drive 76 km with zero emissions, putting it at the top of its class.
When it comes to reducing our carbon footprint, we’re not just serious – we’re driven. See the Clarity trim highlights section below for emissions ratings.
As a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with a full-parallel hybrid powertrain, the Clarity can run on a gasoline internal combustion engine, an electric motor, or both.
The Clarity is a hyper-efficient vehicle, with a blended electric/gasoline fuel consumption of 2.1 L/100 km. And even without the electric motor, the vehicle would be highly efficient, as the 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle gasoline engine is rated at an impressive 5.6 L/100 km (combined city/highway).
When plugged in at 240 volts, the electric motor in the Clarity can be fully recharged in as little as 2.5 hours*.
Three driving modes – Normal, Econ, and Sport – allow you to customize your driving experience, increasing efficiency or driving performance. In addition, Hybrid (HV) mode can be selected in conjunction with each mode in order to help maintain the battery’s state of charge.
With the ECON mode activated, the Clarity helps improve efficiency by adjusting the climate control system and accelerator pedal. Colour-coded bars on the dash provide feedback on your driving style, giving you even more control over efficiency.
The Eco Drive display helps you improve your driving efficiency with a simple-to-follow visual display of the Clarity’s real-time performance.
